Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Sam Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades (Ralph Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing left to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Liam Neeson) and unleash hell on earth. Gemma Arterton Is One Of The ‘Wright Girls’

Gemma Arterton is being lined up to star in Wright Girls. The film, produced by Relativity Media and Atlas Entertainment, is described as a dark comedy-thriller about two young actresses who live together and are co-stars of a successful television show.  However, they actually detest one another, and resort to extreme measures when they compete for the same role in a movie. The flick is a remake of Japanese comedy 2LDK, and has been scripted by Bert Royal, who wrote Emma Stone’s witty comedy Easy A. Sources indicate this is no longer the case. Arterton, whose highest profile work saw her appear as damsels in distress in both Clash of the Titans and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, although neith (Read More)

Are the Titans all sound and fury?

The new wave of sword-and-sandal blockbusters look the part. But beyond the visual spectacle, they&#039re not much cop Wrath of the Titans isn&#039t particularly good. It&#039s the sequel to a terrible film it&#039s co-written and directed by, respectively, the man behind 2009&#039s silly Ophan and the forthcoming origin-sodomising Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film and it stars Rosamund Pike, who has perhaps the world&#039s finest nose for flicks that people really don&#039t want to watch. It also stars Sam Worthington, sporting the silliest cinematic mullet since Tom Hanks decided to dig out the lacquer for The Da Vinci Code. It has very little going for it. And yet large numbers of people turned out to watch Wrath of the Titans – it was beaten at the American box office this weekend only by the unsurpassable Hunger Games – simply because it looks nice. Whatever you think of t (Read More)

'Hunger Games' Stays Alive With $61.1M Second Weekend

Film had the seventh-highest second weekend ever, beating out 'Wrath of the Titans' and 'Mirror Mirror.' By Ryan J. Downey Jennifer Lawrence in "Hunger Games" Photo: Lionsgate "The Hunger Games" devoured "Wrath of the Titans" and "Mirror Mirror" at the box office this weekend. The opening-weekend numbers for the sequel to "Clash of the Titans" and the latest big-screen version of "Snow White" offered little competition to "Games," which made an estimated $61.1 million in North America in its second weekend. "Wrath of the Titans" opened with just $34.2 million. "Clash of the Titans," a 3-D remake of a 1981 swords-and-shield epic, made nearly double that when it opened two years ago. "Mirror, Mirror" stars Julia Roberts as the evil queen and was #3 at the box office with $19 million. With its 60 percent drop from its $155 million opening weekend, "T (Read More)
