First Clip from PROMETHEUS
The marketing train for director Ridley Scott’s Prometheus continues to roll on, and the first clip from the film has now surfaced online. By now I don’t really think any more convincing to see the pic is necessary, but for those of you interested in seeing more from Scott’s return to sci-fi, this clip should serve as a nice appetizer. Said clip features the ship Prometheus landing on the planet we’ve seen so much of already, with Logan Marshall-Green delivering a particularly eerie line. If you missed the interview with screenwriter Damon Lindelof in which he talked about how he turned an Alien prequel into Prometheus, trying not to reveal too much in trailers, the viral campaign and much more I highly suggest you check it out. See the ship itself land It's been at least five minutes since our last look at Ridley Scott's new film, so here, right on cue, is another snippet from Prometheus . There's good news for spoiler-phobes: this doesn't give much away, beyond the fact that there's a spaceship called Prometheus and it lands on an alien world. Still, if you're trying to keep yourself truly pure, might want to avoid it anyway. The other nice thing about this clip is that it's the first clip to show us Idris Elba in action as Janek at any length, and more Elba is always a good thing. It also gives us a tiny further flavour of the relationship between Noomi Rapace's Elizabeth Shaw and her other half, Logan Marshall Green's Charlie Holloway. If Brave doesn't hit the target, a reborn Bourne just might. Here we look at this year's big-budget crowd-pleasers Absorbed at a glance, the list of coming summer blockbusters always seems exciting. That's the point: these are not the year's subtlest or most profound flicks but they're the loudest, brashest, costliest pulse-quickeners on the annual programme. Trouble is, despite a level of anticipation carefully nurtured by the big studios during winter and spring (posters, billboards, teasers, trailers, tie-ins, tweets, featurettes, adverts, apps – everything but Will Smith himself coming round to scream taglines through the letterbox) the end result is so rarely a good summer's cinema. Damon Lindelof Talks Turning an ALIEN Prequel into PROMETHEUS, the Viral Campaign, Revealing Too Much in Trailers and More
I can safely say that Prometheus is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated films of the year. Beyond the fact that it marks a return to the sci-fi genre for director Ridley Scott and is related to his classic horror film Alien, it looks unbelievably cool. By now most people are familiar with the fact that the project originated as a direct prequel to Alien, but when Damon Lindelof was brought onboard to work on the screenplay it morphed into an original story that has ties to the Alien universe. On the heels of 17 new images from the film yesterday, EW has now unveiled an extensive interview with Lindelof in which he addresses exactly how the film changed from a straight prequel to a separate story, how the excellent viral campaign came about, trying not to reveal too much in the marketing material, and he comments on how the title of the film is tied into the story’s themes. 17 New Images from PROMETHEUS
The latest issue of EW appears to have a big story on Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, as the magazine has posted 17 new images from the film for our viewing pleasure. In addition to film stills and candid on-set shots, we also get a few “photoshoot”-style images, including Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron and Noomi Rapace goofing around in their spacesuits (this is now my favorite Prometheus image ever). We recently learned that the film will officially be rated R (rejoice!), and a new featurette entitled “Origins” went online yesterday for those of you who are strangely still on the fence about this one.
