Description: Fifteen-year-old Oliver Tate has two big ambitions: to save his parents' marriage via carefully plotted intervention and to lose his virginity before his next birthday. Worried that his mom is having an affair with New Age weirdo Graham, Oliver monitors his parents' sex life by charting the dimmer switch in their bedroom. He also forges suggestive love letters from his mom to dad. Meanwhile, Oliver attempts to woo his classmate, Jordana, a self-professed pyromaniac who supervises his journal writing - especially the bits about her. When necessary, she orders him to cross things out. Based on Joe Dunthorne's acclaimed novel, Submarine is a captivating coming-of-age story with an offbeat edge.

Exclusive Clip From Paddy Considine’s ‘Tyrannosaur’ Hints At the Violence to Come

Paddy Considine is a recognizable face onscreen thanks to memorable (and diametrically opposed) turns in movies like Dead Man's Shoes and Hot Fuzz. You may also recognize him from recent (and fantastic) movies like Red Riding 1980, The Bourne Ultimatum, and Submarine. After years of toiling in supporting roles and the occasional lead Considine has taken a step back behind the camera for his feature directorial debut, Tyrannosaur. The film stars Peter Mullan (pictured above) as an angry drunken Irishman prone to violence and verbal meanness, and yes, Mullan is at risk of being typecast. He meets a woman who's seen her fair share of violence and pain but still manages to hold onto a forgiving and caring heart. The two become friends, for lack of a better term, but her abusive husband (Eddie Marsan) suspects there's more to their relationship. Check out the clip below to see the three fa (Read More)

It can only mean one thing: its time for the Jameson Empire Awards 2012 . The big winner of the night was Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy , which took home Best Thriller, Best Actor (for Gary Oldman) and Best British Film. The Best Film of the year went to Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, Part Two , which also won Best Director for David Yates, while Olivia Colman took Best Actress for her astonishing turn in Tyrannosaur . The Awards were voted for by the Empire reader, and it's fair to say that they reflect a wide-ranging taste. Best Comedy went to homegrown British juggernaut The Inbetweeners , while Best Horror went to the deeply disturbing Kill List . The Americans got a look-in for Best (Read More)
