Description: The Kids Are All Right is the heartfelt new comedy from acclaimed director Lisa Cholodenko, starring Annette Bening, Julianne Moore, and Mark Ruffalo. Two teenaged children (Alice in Wonderland's Mia Wasikowska and Journey to the Center of the Earth's Josh Hutcherson) get the notion to seek out their biological father and introduce him into the family life that their two mothers (Bening and Moore) have built for them. Once the donor (Ruffalo) is found, the household will never be the same, as family ties are defined, re-defined, and re-re-defined. The New York Times raves that it's "a generous, nearly note-perfect portrait of a modern family," and Entertainment Weekly calls the movie "funny, smart and sexy!"

Mark Ruffalo Joins Bennett Miller’s ‘Foxcatcher’ in David Schultz Role

You hear that? That's the sound of everyone in Hollywood sitting up and finally taking notice of the absurdly talented Mark Ruffalo. While the actor has turned in a series of accomplished roles (including You Can Count on Me, Zodiac, The Brothers Bloom, and The Kids Are All Right) over the years, he's never quite vaulted into big-name, big-award territory. Until now. Though his casting as Bruce Banner/The Hulk in Joss Whedon's upcoming The Avengers was an unexpected choice, Ruffalo's work in the film is outstanding (I can vouch for that, having seen the film last week), and fans will be very pleased with his take on both Bruce and &#8220the other guy.&#8221 To that end, Variety reports that Ruffalo has landed his first post-Avengers role, and it's one that may make an Oscar winner out of him yet. Ruffalo has now joined the cast of Bennett Miller's long-gestating true crime story, Fo (Read More)

Carell May Have a Very Bad Day

Considering the kids' book adaptation In his quest to keep some variety in his filmmaking choices, Steve Carell has often hit a rich vein with animated movies aimed at younger audiences. While Over The Hedge wasnt a winner, both Horton Hears A Who and Despicable Me did well, with the latter spawning a sequel due next year. So now hes considering branching out into live action, circling a choice part in the film adaptation of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. Originally published by Judith Viorst in 1972, Alexander has become a popular kids book in several countries, and has been adapted for both TV (by HBO in 1990) and the stage. Nothing seems to go right for him from the moment he wakes up and all day through school. It gets to th (Read More)

Film: Newswire: Steve Carell to star in live-action Alexander And The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, still not star in our Dan In Real Life sequel

As reported last spring , The Kids Are All Right director Lisa Cholodenko is preparing a live-action adaptation of Alexander And The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day , the children’s literature classic that has introduced so many kids to their very first first-world problems. For those of you who never learned to read, your caseworker will now inform you that the story centers around a young man who suffers the mounting humiliation of having gum in his hair, not getting a prize in his cereal, and being forced to wear pajamas he dislikes by a loving family who provides ...
