Description: In the gripping thriller "The Lincoln Lawyer," Matthew McConaughey stars as Michael "Mick" Haller, a slick, charismatic Los Angeles criminal defense attorney who operates out of the back of his Lincoln Continental sedan. Having spent most of his career defending petty, gutter-variety criminals, Mick unexpectedly lands the case of a lifetime: defending a rich Beverly Hills playboy (Ryan Phillippe) who is accused of attempted murder. However, what initially appears to be a straightforward case with a big money pay-off swiftly develops into a deadly match between two masters of manipulation and a crisis of conscience for Haller.

Matthew McConaughey is the loquacious and candid subject of this month's Total Film Interview, which you can read in the brand new issue (out now in magazine and brilliant new interactive iPad edition formats). He chats at length about the ups and downs of his career, and gives an update on the status of the sequel to his biggest hit in recent years, The Lincoln Lawyer. Justin Timberlake also aboard Just last month, word broke that Warner Bros. was itching to push Ben Affleck back in front of the camera without him running back behind it to direct for political comedy Nathan Decker . But while he was in early talks for that one, it would seem that New Regency was already attempting to have him star in a film, this time online gambling drama Runner, Runner , which would see him acting alongside Justin Timberlake. Brad Furman &ndash who last year made the excellent The Lincoln Lawyer &ndash is set to direct the film, which is being kept largely under wraps aside from the idea of it being set in the illegal world of net based poker and other games (the title seems to indicate horse racing might be involved.)
