'Thor 2' Will Be 'Huge,' Idris Elba Promises

Actor tells MTV News his character Heimdall will be 'more involved' in the sequel. By Kevin P. Sullivan Idris Elba Photo: MTV News A movie like " The Avengers " doesn't just make $1 billion in a little less than 20 days without having a few sequels already in the pipeline. Jeremy Renner & Scarlett Johansson Talk AVENGERS, Meeting Fans, and Tell a Great Story About Watching THOR While Filming

With The Avengers opening tomorrow in North America, Marvel/Disney recently held a massive press junket in Los Angeles and I was able to interview most of the cast, director Joss Whedon, and Kevin Feige (Marvel Studios President).   Every day this week I’ve been posting a new video interview from the junket.  The past few days have featured Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/Hulk), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Chris Hemsworth with Chris Evans (Thor/Captain America) Samuel L. 'There are so many other universes out there and realms in the comics that they explored,' 'Avengers' star tells MTV News. By Kevin P. Sullivan Chris Hemsworth Photo: Getty Images After the Avengers assemble, Thor will be one of the first heroes to head back into his own movie. When MTV News spoke with Chris Hemsworth at the closing-night festivities of the Tribeca Film Festival, he expressed his excitement for a new director and his hopes that " Thor 2 " will take the God of Thunder away from both Earth and Asgard. After it was announced that Kenneth Branagh would not return as director for the sequel, Alan Taylor , one of the creators and directors of "Game of Thrones," joined to helm the film. Hemsworth said the darker tones of "Thrones" have him eagerly anticipating a new take on the Norse myth. "'Game of Thrones' had a real mythical element (Read More)
