Good Movie
Added 8/5/2009
This movie was actually good and not as bad as a lot of reviews seem to think. Was it as good as The Original movie.. No it wasn't but it was still good and I enjoyed it.
The songs may not be 60's music(the time period of the movie) but they do have a more 80's music feel to it. The songs were not bad but I do agree could have been better.
The main characters were played by then unknown young actors Maxwell Caulfield and Michelle Pfeiffer. Caulfield who went on be in the Night time soap Dynasty, and Pfeiffer who went on to have a career in the movies. Quiet frankly aside from being in Grease 2 and having a part as Catwomen in Batman 2. I haven't seen any of her other movies she may have done.
They all so bring back Frenchy (Didi Conn), Eve Arden as Principal McGee,Sid Caesar as Coach Calhoun, Dody Goodman as Blanche Hodel. all who were in the first movie.
If you haven't seen it , you should at lease once.

Watch it for Max and a few fun scenes.. any Grease fan must at least watch it once!

Okay, Maxwell who plays the male lead role is DEVASTATINGLY hot in this movie.
Michelle is cute, at times very sexy, but mostly she sticks out as a superstar in a three star movie..too old to be a high school grad but hot enough to wish she was. So you play along.
The storyline is kind of fun...senior girl wants something more from a boyfriend. (Rather than the TOO DOPEY..and I MEAN STUPID Thunderbirds.) What does she want? A cool rider, a cool guy with a motorcycle.
Well, her guy comes along in an exchange student with a yummy english accent...who is super smart and wants Stephanie...but needs to be cool and have a bike to get her.
I wont spoil anything. The other reviews are right, the opening scene and the end scene are great dances with lots of great timing and very upbeat. Just the teachers/school employees and Frenchie return in this one. You wont find a deep second char like Rizzo here. It's all about the accent, bowling, really stupid T-birds/Pink Ladies, a fun talent competition and Michelle/Stephanie. That's it. Still, worth having seen it.
While I enjoyed it the first time, it took me about 10 years to watch it a second time. I enjoyed it with my niece recently and probably wont watch it again unless she does.

Not even good enough to be a guilty pleasure
Added 7/1/2009
Of all the sequels ever made, and there have been some bad ones, Grease 2 may very well be the worst of the lot. Not a single actor is memorable, except for being BAD, not a single song is even a little bit catchy, the routines are void of life and energy, and the story itself is a retread of Grease with genders switched.
Avoid this film at ALL costs.

I've read alot of the reviews of Grease2 on this sight and must say I agree with most of the bad ones,It is a pretty badly acted, badly written movie,Not to mention the dumb songs But the one thing that I've read alot is about the ages of the cast being too old, butif you look at Grease1 John Travolta was 24 and the youngest of the leads. Olivia Newton-John was 30 at the time Jeff Conaway was 28 and most laughably Stockard Channing was 34 yrs old.and looked like a high schooler like I at 46 look like a high schooler. But the most laughable part is that Stephanie looks at the "Cool Rider" in the face albeit while he is wearing goggles and doesn't have a clue????as to who he is.The music is pure 80s kitsch and not anything 50s or 60s. Lorna Luft WTF she sucks and blows at the same time .she can't act can't sing and she's 30 yrs. old and looks 40. Maybe there wasn't a script at all and they told the "actors" to act like people would believe they were a tough gang. And the girls to act like they were empty headed bimbos who all the other students at Rydell would respect and fear.or maybe the script writers were high and or drunk and it sounded good at the time.
