24x36: A Movie About Movie Posters is a documentary that explores the birth, death and recent resurrection of illustrated movie poster art. Through interviews with key art personalities from the past four decades, director Kevin Burke’s film aims to answer the question: What happened to the illustrated movie poster, why did it disappear, and what’s brought it back? 24x36 features interviews with iconic artists David Byrd, Roger Kastel, and William Stout; contemporary designers including Daniel Danger, Tim Doyle, Justin Erickson, Gary Pullin, Paige Reynolds, Akiko Stehrenberger and Tom Whalen; gallery owners and creative directors like Mondo’s Rob Jones and Mitch Putnam, and Hollywood Canteen’s Mike Orlando; and filmmakers like Joe Dante.
