Mike McDermot moves with a firmness which marks him for what he is – an athlete. But his playboy lifestyle has seen him kicked off the golf pro circuit when accused of match-fixing and with the new name of Banning, hustles from one Country Club (and woman) to another to make a living both on the course and in the club house. Barely into the swing of his job as assistant golf pro, Banning is approached by Doc Brewer – whom he owes money for financing his early career. Doc is in to the mob for $40,000 and they want their money, so Banning sweet-talks the Country Club high-rollers into backing a calcutta: a high-stakes auction/golf tournament. But can he come out on top when the club pro is a cheater, a man-hungry woman is intent on securing him in her bed and his real identity is revealed, leading to a sudden-death playoff…for his life?
