Dashing Stewart Granger plays a young Irish farmer, Hugh, who along with his fellow villagers, is served an eviction notice by their landlord, Captain Boycott. They all decide to send the Captain to ‘moral Coventry’ by refusing to allow him local labour or supplies. The evictions continue and Boycott installs his daughter in one of the cottages. Hugh falls in love with her but she is bound by loyalty to her father. Who will win the land, and who will win her heart?
