Disappearance

In this slow-burning drama, an idyllic family life set in the beautiful snowy countryside of Norway is shaken after a member returns home with bad news. Every year, 33-year-old photographer Roos (Rifka Lodeizen) visits her estranged pianist mother, Louise (Elsie de Brauw), and her teenage half-brother, Bengt (Marcus Hanssen), but this time is different: she’s dying, and there are numerous issues to be addressed from her past. At first, old pain and countless reproaches keep her from sharing anything, but with the help of Bengt and an ex-lover, the two women are eventually reconcile and Roos is ready to take her next, irreversible step.
