A newsreel chief and his son agree to make a film on human achievement. The chief, however, is more concerned with his original idea of Shadow Over Europe, a newsreel about Hitler’s invasion of Czechoslovakia. His son resigns and travels to South America where he encounters a story. During the battle of the River Plate, a German battleship, the Graf Spee, has been sunk by British Ships. Has he found himself an important newsreel?
