Louie (Jordan Chan) is a Hong Kong hairdresser who lives with his transsexual mother Emma (Law Kar-Ying). He visits a remote Chinese province to attend the funeral of a former client where he encounters the deceased’s beautiful but enigmatic granddaughter, Aggie (Yasuko Tomita). After discovering that the emotionally traumatised young woman is spending most of her time sleeping on the kitchen floor of an apartment block that is scheduled for demolition, Louie takes her home and an unusual relationship develops between these two lonely souls.
