Remember when your favorite face in the world had a wet nose? Eight-year-old Angela Clure is just discovering the special bond that comes with a special canine friend. And through the joy, tragedy and triumph to come, she'll learn a lot about growing up, too. Based on Albert Payson Terhune's beloved children's novel, Lad: A Dog comes to the screen with a blue-ribbon pedigree. Peter Breck(Benji) plays the owner of the estate where Lad lives. And Angela Cartwright is the invalid girl who, despite the objections of her father (Carroll O'Connor), opens her heart to the remarkable dog. Hers isn't the only heart captured by the dutiful collie. Whether he's braving an inferno, cornering an intruder or fetching a stick, Lad: A Dog will surely work his way into yours.
