Not Going Quietly provides an intimate and inspiring look at progressive hero and loving father Ady Barkan. Diagnosed with ALS at age 32, and in spite of declining physical abilities, Barkan embarks on a nationwide campaign for healthcare reform through his “Be A Hero” organization, speaks at the 2020 Democratic National Convention, and becomes the “most powerful activist in America” according to Politico. Bruckman’s documentary captures the chance airplane encounter with Senator Jeff Flake that catapulted Ady to fame and the behind-the-scenes look at Ady’s groundbreaking interviews with Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren during the Democratic Primaries.
