This short film of friendship and kindness won an Oscar and a BAFTA. Fender is a frail clerk who has worked for forty-three years in the same cold clothing warehouse with his colleague and friend, Morry. He has longed for one of the warm, sheepskin-lined coats that they make, but has been too poor to buy one, and his mean boss has refused to let him have one. Morry offers to make him one, but before the ‘bespoke’ overcoat is completed, Fender dies of the cold. After his death, however, he returns as a ghost with the aim of taking the coat he feels he is rightly owed
