Lord Admiral Horatio Nelson, England's greatest maritime hero, led a life of astonishing adventure. He found danger in soul-stirring naval battles, fame in his triumphs over Napoleon's fleet, and passion in the arms of the bewitching - and, like Nelson himself, married - Lady Emma Hamilton. Frank Lloyd (Mutiny on the Bounty) won a 1928-29 Best Director Oscar for this thrilling pre-Talkie (with musical and sound effects) of ship-to-ship and man-to-man combat interwoven with poignant scenes of the lovers finding happiness amid the tumult of war.
