In Kenya, 1949, a 12-year old servant boy is forced to take a sacred oath which ties him to the bloody politics of the Mau Mau rebels. This oath, and the murder of his father, soon place him in direct conflict with the white masters who first gave him a home and a job--and whom he has come to love and trust. As the violence escalates, the boy becomes a victim of the clash between the two different cultures.
