George Fotheringay is a draper’s assistant who, out of the blue, is suddenly endowed with the power to work miracles. Others are quick to exploit him for their own selfish gain, and George himself is attempting to uses his powers to woo Ada Price, the woman he loves. His lack of success leads to him realising that he must use his powers in a less selfish way. With this in mind, he gathers the world leaders together and presents them with an ultimatum - with results that surprise even George himself.
