A macabre tale of witchcraft, weird rites, and gruesome murder. Norah Benson (Shirley MacLaine) is a well-to-do divorcee living in a comfortable apartment with her two children and brother Joel Delaney (Perry King). After Joel fails to appear for dinner, Norah discovers him strapped in an ambulance heading for the mental hospital. Reports have it that, under the influence of drugs, Joel had attacked his apartment manager. Joel remembers nothing and later develops erratic, frightening and vulgar behaviour. His girlfriend is found brutally murdered, and he is a suspect. To prove his innocence Norah begins her own investigation, and becomes engulfed in a climax of spine-chilling terror.
