Torrente, el brazo tonto de la ley is a 1998 Spanish dark comedy written, directed and starred by Santiago Segura and produced by Lolafilms. I characterized by its thick, cartoonish humor, had a great reception from the public and critics, coming Torrente and sketches part of Spanish contemporary popular imagination. Tasteless jokes, profanity and scatological scenes seem to be the keys to success in Spain. The title is a parody of Cobra, the strong arm of the law, the name that was promoted in Spain Cobra film starring Sylvester Stallone. This film won two Goya awards and became the highest grossing in the history of Spanish cinema, later surpassed by its sequel, (Torrente 2: Misión en Marbella). He also laid the foundations of humor Santiago Segura, who also directed this second part, the third (Torrente 3: El protector), the fourth (Torrente 4: Lethal Crisis) and fifth (Torrente 5: Operación Eurovegas). These last two were shot in stereoscopic 3D.
