Martha and Paul live in a happy, trusting relationship with each other. They have a beautiful home, a close group friends and a shared sense of humor. After graduating as a physician Paul gets the chance to go to Marseille. Martha wants to go with him. She can work there as a teacher at an international school. Paul departs early to drive to their new life leaving Martha to finish cleaning their former apartment. But then suddenly there are two police officers at the door. They tell her a secret from Paul's past that causes Martha's whole world to collapse.
