Amid an unprecedented oil boom over the last ten years, North Dakota is home to a modern day gold rush. Rushed into the industrial era, the state is forced to welcome both drills and an ever-growing population where everyone must learn how to take their fair share of the Black Harvest. The poignant documentary follows Doug Wenner, who arrives in a 1983 Subaru with a golden retriever and $13 in his pocket, and John Heiser, a local rancher with deep roots in the land who won’t let his way of life disappear without a fight.
