Discover
A surrealist historical melodrama set in 19th century Spain, against a backdrop of growing discontent, FALLING STAR begins as Amadeo van Savoy, a prince from Turin, is elected as the King of Spain with a paltry 191 votes. Much to the dismay of his new subjects, Amadeo (Alex Brendemül) is a reluctant King who prefers beauty over power and passion over duty. Following his arrival in Madrid, his protector, General Prim, is assassinated and with no safety valve and in the midst of a crumbling empire, the new King chooses to lose himself in wine, fruit, sex, and melancholy.
