In the Lower Engadine in the Swiss Inn Valley the summer draws to an end. The boy Ursli (Jonas Hartmann) is firmly scheduled in the workflow with his parents in the Alps where he must plow. When he has free time, he spends it with Sereina (Julia Jeker), a very good friend who lives over the summer in the nearby pasture. The problems begin when a part of the harvest is lost during Alpabfahrt and Ursli's family has to resorting to taking a loan from a prosperous shopkeeper in the village. Ursli is deeply saddened because his kids Zila is going to be sold to the rich shopkeeper's son Roman (Laurin Michael).
