Located on the continent of Africa in Kitale, Kenya, the DTRC was founded by Patricia Sawo and is a sanctuary that offers food, shelter and schooling to HIV/AIDS orphans. Patricia's story contains all the elements of a real life human drama; love, faith, separation, forgiveness, reconciliation and hope. Central to her story is how one person can have a life changing impact on many others; she says, there is hope in her story and that is what she wants the world to see, this is why she is called "Mama Sweetie". She draws her strength and resilience from an unwavering faith and then combines that strength with the family’s personal experience living with HIV/AIDS. That personal experience has been transformed into a mission of love and compassion for many children living in and around Kitale, that before Mama Sweetie were living with little or no hope.
