What does it mean to be good? Is goodness measured through sympathy, or through decisive action? When her African-American adoptive mother goes missing, Blaze (Megan Johnson) is unable to remain passive, and takes it upon herself to wrestle against seemingly uncontrollable forces in order to rescue her caregiver. Embedding herself in a white supremacist organisation, she poses as its leader's girlfriend. Returning from a rally, the group tests Blaze’s allegiance, forcing her into situations that will gauge her moral compass, and send her evening out of control. SAVIORS is a bold and incendiary movie filmed in a single continuous take. This cinematic technique elevates and intensifies the film's events as the camera effortlessly glides through both heart-pounding tension and brief moments of intimate relief. Its outstanding choreography, combined with naturalistic yet impassioned acting, creates a rhythm and intensity that makes SAVIORS an unmissable film throughout. Fiercely relevant, it exposes the primal bigotry of American white nationalists, showing how they manipulate media attention via fronts of supposed respectability. Intelligent and energetic in equal measure, SAVIORS grabs your attention and does not let go. Bruno Savill de Jong
