The Servant

Bang-ja is a handsome, well-mannered servant who falls in love at first sight with Chun-hyang. They meet at a geisha house called Cheongpunggak, and Bang-ja is well aware that his master, Mong-lyong, also fancies Chun-hyang. Not wanting to lose her to Mong-lyong, he decides to win her heart first and seeks out the help of old man Ma, renowned for his skills with women. Mong-lyong approaches Chun-hyang with a complex strategy based on Confucian Analects and Mencius. But Chun-hyang has plans of her own, among them advancing her social status through Mong-lyong, a nobleman. She puts her plan into practice, manipulating both men to achieve her own ends…
