Ikram Akhtar is an Indian screenwriter, producer and director working in Bollywood whose career spans more than three decades. He started his Bollywood career as an Assistant Writer working for Anees Bazmee. In the early 1990s, he began his career as writer with the release of Chota chetan in 1997, It was the first Indian film to be filmed in 3D format. In the next year 1998, he assisted and wrote for Pyaar to Hona Hi Tha. In the year 2000, he did Tera Jadoo Chal Gaya. In the same year, he wrote for four more movies like Kunwara, Baaghi, Joru Ka Ghulam, and Chal Mere Bhai. In the year 2002, he wrote comedy film Chalo Ishq Ladaaye. In the next year 2003, he wrote Nayee Padosan which was a moderate success at the box office. In the year 2009, he wrote the gangster film Baabarr. In the year 2010, he wrote No Problem In the next year 2011, he wrote two multi starrer blockbusters Thank You and Ready. Ready became the second highest opening-day grosser, as well as the second highest weekend grossing Bollywood film (2011), after Dabangg. Ikram is widely regarded as one of the most significant and versatile writer in Bollywood.
