Encore!: Pippin

Thirty-five years ago, the students of the Youth Performing Arts School in Louisville, Kentucky performed the avante-garde musical “Pippin.” Now, the cast reunites, along with Broadway professionals, to present an encore performance. We will meet Philip, who played Pippin, and his then high school sweetheart, Kim, and find out how much they meant to each other. Karter and Michael were double-cast in the original production and now have to reimagine the role for two. We’ll see Jerry, now a chauffeur; Kelly, the serious actor in high school who hopes to add her life experience to the part; Vince, the youngest of the cast will try to keep up with the Bob Fosse choreography; and Dori, still in the business as a talent agent, will get a chance to show her performing side to her children. Watch these performing arts students rekindle their passion for musical theater as they put on an encore performance of “Pippin.” Some flashing lights sequences or patterns may affect photosensitive viewers.
