Sick and tired of getting shoved into lockers and being called "the nerd boy," Christian makes a crucial decision to shake his bookish image (not to mention his haters) and achieve a seemingly impossible goal of becoming a wide receiver on his high school's football team. This is definitely going to be a challenge, considering Christian weighs in at a mere 122 pounds and has never played with the pigskin in his life. In this episode of MADE, we cheer on Christian, as he tries to earn a spot on the team. On Day 1 of his MADE mission, Christian hits the field for his first practice with the team. Unfortunately, he starts off on the wrong foot by arriving late. Unimpressed by Christian's disregard for the clock, the coach forces him to do a "pre-workout" of 20 push-ups before joining in on the practice. After a grueling first practice, Christian makes an effort to bond with the team during a pick-up game. Unfortunately, not too much bonding takes place, but Christian does get a surprise visitor on the field: his MADE coach Kelly! Despite the fact she is a top physical trainer in Boston as well as the coach of the University of Massachusetts cheerleading squad, Christian doubts Kelly's ability to transform him from a "scrawny" wannabe into a gridiron powerhouse. Christian does, however, become a little more convinced, when he finds out Kelly played football in college (quarterback and safety!) and is a self-described "football psycho." Kelly tells Christian how she wants to help him not only learn the game of football but also improve his "game" with the ladies. On Day 3, Christian does the unspeakable and misses a practice with the team. While the other players are sweating it out on the field, Christian spends the weekend on Martha's Vineyard with his family, soaking up rays on the beach. He also misses an important meeting with Kelly, and she is very disappointed and begins to doubt his desire and determination to achieve his goal. When Christian returns to the city and meets up with Kelly, he reaffirms his commitment to the mission. To help Christian learn the importance of teamwork and dependability, she puts him through a practice session with the University of Massachusetts cheerleading squad. Kelly also tells Christian that she expects him to go out on a date with a girl in just three days! By Day 8, Christian seems as though he is starting to get the hang of his new physically-demanding lifestyle. He starts training in the weight room with the team and even eventually earns his pads. On Day 10, Kelly helps Christian prepare for his big date with a young beauty named Danielle. Kelly assures Christian he will enjoy the company of Danielle--who is both his classmate and a student manager of the football team--because she is "cute as crap." While on their date at the bowling alley, the two seem to be enjoying each other's company, and Danielle describes Christian as "funny" and said he kept her "laughing for a few minutes." On the first day of team tryouts, Christian works hard to show the progress he has made toward achieving his big goal. That evening, Christian hears some shocking news from his dad: he is being sent to boarding school. Upon hearing the news, Christian believes his dream of becoming a star athlete is over. Au contraire! After some serious thought, Christian comes to the conclusion that maybe football is not really the sport for him, and he decides to give cross country a shot. He remembers how much he enjoyed all the running he did on the field, and he decides to go out for the cross country team at his new school. After coming in first place at his first cross country race, Christian qualifies for a spot on the varsity team. After finally realizing his dream of becoming a respected athlete, Christian learns that anyone--even underdogs--can be MADE.
