Meet Marissa, a college freshman who acts more like a grungy boy than a dainty lady. Marissa's burps with the best of them and swears like a sailor. Now Marissa wants to become a girly girl and throw her sister the wedding shower of her dreams. The time arrives for Marissa to meet her MADE coach, Ashlan, a southern belle turned sophisticated New York lady. Marissa explains why she wants to be MADE--and reveals her anything-but-elegant dining style. A lady does not crack her knuckles at the table. The following morning, a perky Ashlan wakes Marissa out of her sleep and insists that she take a shower to which Marissa drops the F word. Ashlan suggests using the word "fudge" instead. Next, Ashlan assigns Marissa to meet with etiquette coach Ms. Caroline -- founder of the Michigan School of Etiquette. With Ashlan's help, Marissa improves her walk in heels. The shower plan hits a snag when Marissa refuses to open up and read her personal speech for her sister. Ashlan tells Marissa that her hard exterior needs to soften so that she can truly transform herself. Marissa admits that she's been reluctant to open up - but vows to make a real attempt. Marissa gets an amazing makeover and socializes with Ashlan's sophisticated lady friends in New York. Marissa even practices her speech for the ladies and Ashlan says she's "one of the girls." Back at college, Marissa feels like a new person. She takes pride in how she looks, feels better and gets more respect from others. But after learning that she cannot use the location she'd selected for her sister's shower, Marissa stresses out and reverts to cursing again. Fortunately she finds another location. On the day of the shower, there's barely a dry eye after Marissa gives Lauren a beautiful toast. Marissa expresses her gratitude to Ashlan, and they share a hug. Marissa has been MADE.
