Police chief Verena Klausen (Henny Reents) heads an interdisciplinary unit responding to emergency calls to deal with major incidents from bomb attacks to kidnappings or riots. Every mission requires teamwork and the courage to be creative, gathering information from every imaginable source – while keeping calm, in control, and alert to the safety of the team and the public. As the team responds to two explosions that bring the centre of Hamburg to a standstill, the operation is overshadowed by the threat of further blasts; and when the 8-year-old son of a wealthy entrepreneur is kidnapped, danger escalates as the father decides to deal with the abductors on his own terms.
