At the end of the 18th Century, smuggling was considered to be a legitimate spare-time occupation for most fishermen around Britains shores. But when a gang of cut-throats, led by an infamous character named Black John, starts luring ships on to the rocks near the little Cornish village of Tarn, and murdering their crews for the sake of loot, the fishermen begin to fear for their livelihood. This action packed drama tells the story of their struggle to rid their coastline of these unscrupulous murderers.
