An old woman (Henrietta Crosman, Pilgrimage) leaves her daughter's home after a fight, and is reported missing by her family. Striking up a conversation with a charming young man (Richard Cromwell, The Most Precious Thing in Life, Jezebel) in a park, she accepts a ride home with him and his friend (Arthur Hohl, Baby Face, The Devil-Doll). Not realizing her new acquaintances are jewel thieves, she accepts a job as a cook for the men — who are really just using her as a front. The old lady is smarter than they give her credit for, and soon she's figured out the whole scheme. Beautifully photographed around Los Angeles by Joseph August, this charming film has some great surprises in store. Newly remastered.
