Bonkers accompanies Roderick Lizzard to an audition for a 'live action' movie. Roderick believes he has beat out Crunchy Potato Chip for the leading role, but when he finds out that he is playing a monster, he walks off the set. A fire is set in the film lab and all evidence points to Roderick, so Bonkers and Miranda must arrest him, forcing the director to hire Crunchy as a replacement. Bonkers knows Roderick would never start a fire (it would ruin his manicure) so he sets out to solve the mystery. Bonkers then finds evidence connecting Crunchy to the fire. When Crunchy is confronted, he goes on a rampage, taking Roderick's valet, Tuttle, hostage. After triumphing over Crunchy, Roderick takes Crunchy's place in the potato chip commercials.
