Another Dawn

Julia Ashton arrives at a British outpost in the post-WWI Sahara, her heart burdened by loss. When she meets Captain Denny Roark she soon realizes the soldier’s charm and compassion could restore her capacity to love. But Julia has recently settled for another man—Roark‘s commanding officer. Kay Francis (One Way Passage, Jewel Robbery) and Errol Flynn star together for the only time in this romantic melodrama that showcases Francis in all her sophisticated glory and builds on Flynn's growing heartthrob appeal and on-screen triumphs that already included Captain Blood and The Charge of the Light Brigade. Ian Hunter (Strange Cargo) plays the gallant third side of the tales romantic triangle. The lushly appointed film features an evocative musical score by influential film composer Erich Wolfgang Korngold, who later reprised portions of it for his famed violin concerto.
